THE LOCATION
PALAZZOLO ACREIDE is part of the Sicilian area of the Iblei and has been recognized by UNESCO as "Baroque city world heritage
site". It is located in the province of Siracusa and boasts 3000 years of history,of which important historical and archaeological traces
remain to this day. Sicilians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans have followed over the centuries in the same territories,
often superimposing different architectures and cultures among each other.
In the excavations artefacts made of glass and ceramics were found
that link us to the daily life of 3000 years ago.

Other than the course, we will visit specific archaeological sites and archaeological museums, such as the site of Akrai, the
Archaeological Museum of Palazzolo Acreide and the Greek theatre and Archaeological Museum of Siracusa.
